On Thursday, in Tokyo the electric power copany, the utility that operates Japan damaged the nuclear reactors. Japanese officials say that about 9,452 people were comfirmed killed in the earthquake and tsunami, and 14,671 people were listed as missing. The operator of the nuclear reactors and power plants on the northern coast of Japan has a documented history of errors and cover-ups and, according to anti-nuclear activists, a pattern of hiding the truth when things go wrong. Despite being urged not to hoard bottled water, residents of Japan's capital snapped it up after the tests that showed radioactive iodine in tap water at levels unsafe for infants. The city's water agency said the spike was likely caused by problems at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.Tokyo officials earlier advised against giving tap water to infants. In Tokyo,Hong Kong has suspended food and milk imports from five prefectures in Japan after radiation was detected in vegetable imports at the city's international airport. Not to mention, the government banned products which included milk, milk powder, vegetables, and food produced.According to the Hong Kong Food and Health Department, Japanese meats and seafood imports have also been suspended.Mostly,Japan's government estimates the destruction of infrastructure, housing and business facilities could cost up to 25 trillion yen ($309 billion),
Japans tap water found unsafe for infants.
In addition to the stories of people struggling to survive in quake-ravaged towns in northeastern Japan, the plight of workers braving high radiation levels to solve problems at the troubled plant has also drawn attention.Residents of Japan's capital on Wednesday took tests that showed radioactive material in tap water at levels unsafe for infants. The city's water agency said the spike was likely caused by problems at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, located 240 kilometers (150 miles) away.Tokyo government officials advised residents not to give tap water to infants or use it in formula after tests at a purification plant detected high levels of radioactive iodine. On Wednesday afternoon a black plume of smoke billowed above one of the reactors, plant owner Tokyo Electric Power Company said,The cause of the smoke was unclear.Officials with Tokyo Electric and Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency said.,Workers have been scrambling to cool down fuel rods at the nuclear plant since a 9.0-magnitude earthquake and massive tsunami on March 11 knocked out cooling systems. Some radiation has been released, but it was unclear whether radiation levels spiked after the black smoke was spotted Wednesday. The amount of iodine detected was lower than the level considered safe for adults: 300 becquerels per kilogram. The level set for infants is "very conservative," The government also mentioned that, due to the high radiation levels, tap water should not be given to children 1 year old and younger. Also on Wednesday, Japan's government expanded food shipment restrictions after the health ministry said tests detected radioactive materials at levels exceeding legal limits in eleven types of vegetables. The decision to prohibit produce sales is another potentially devastating blow to a part of northeast Japan hit by the earthquake and tsunami.
U.S nuclear agency forms plant safety task force.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has voted to begin a review of plant safety in the United States following the earthquake-induced crisis at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The commission voted to create a task force of senior managers and former agency experts to conduct what the NRC said would be "both short- and long-term analysis of the lessons that can be learned from the situation in Japan." President Barack Obama said he had asked the independent agency for a "comprehensive review of the safety of our domestic nuclear plants in light of the natural disaster that unfolded in Japan."The review will supplement existing programs to ensure plant safety, Commission Chairman Greg Jaczko said.We will perform a systematic and methodical review to see if there are changes that should be made to our programs and regulations to ensure protection of public health and safety," he said.

Why cant we predict the next big earthquake?
Why cant seismologists predict the next quake? Its a question that many people are asking, and its a fustration. In the 1970s and 1980s scientist quoted that short time predictions were just around the corner.Several decades later, the earthquake science community is older and wider. Now we have learned that, in short the prediction is really tough. To make the prediction accurate,we would need to identify a reliable precursor, some signals we could also observe which might tell us wether a big quake is imminent. So far,the earth simply does not provide any observable signal to tell us a big quake is on the way. When seismologists are asked whether earthquakes can be predicted, they tend to be quick and answer no. Sometimes even seismologists forget that in many of the ways that matter the most, earthquakes are too predictable. We call it forecasting. This basically means that we know where the active earthquakes zones are on the planet. And for most of these zones we have quite a good estimate, based on various types of data,of the excepted long term average rates of earthquakes.
Preparing for the great quake!
We can say with confident that in many of these zones, the next big quake might not be within the lifetime of an individual alive today, but is very likely to occur within the lifetime of many of the buildings constucted today. For example,Japan,California, the caribbean,Turkey, and the Himalayan front are some our best assessments of hazard show relatively higher. Any active plate boundary is fair game for a big earthquake any time. The scientific consensus is that the horrible quakes, approaching and exceeding magnitude 9, are restricted to subduction zones such as the one where a magnitude-9 earthquake triggered the Japan tsunami. Along the type of plate boundary. So basically, what I am trying to say is if you are located on one of the planets hot zone, then you are endanger, and must move to a different location, anywhere but a hot zone.Take Japan for example, where the risk from aftershocks is substantial.
Now, many scientists are pessimistic that prediction will ever be possible, although the jury is still out. Research continues with increasingly sophisticated methods and data.We know for sure that preparedness remains our best defense against devastating earthquakes. As tragic as the disaster in Japan is, it clearly would have been much worse without that country's decades of investment in preparedness.

Heavy smoking finally declines in the U.S!
The number of Americans who smoke a pack of cigarettes per day or even more has dropped significantly, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association. In my opinion,I personally do not believe this is true,Now I find many high school students smoking , this is very natural for them, every teen has a reason for smoking. For example, most teens are depressed and thinks that smoking can avoid being sad,but it really doesnt ,Cigarettes are additing and once you start smoking you actually do not want to stop.Researchers actually found out that fewer Americans are smoking ten or more cigarettes a day,I guess thats an improvement.

Will global economy be hit by Japan?
Japan is at serious risk of falling into a recession, caused by Fridays tragic earthquake and Tsunami. According to many leading economist Japan could recover quickly, sparing the global economy a significant shock. The earthquake/ Tsunami has killed about nearly two-thousand people.Several of the nations nuclear power reaction are at risks of the melt down, leaving many people without power and about half a million are in shelters." The recent events in Japan are first and foremost a human tragedy",not to mention, the markets also need to consider the economic impact.

The devastation in Japan!
Japan has not managed its economy with the awareness that they have to suffer with the damage of what was left of the huge earthquake. For example, the earthquake caused many damages in the roads, houses, and transportations. Not to mention there was flooding, which caused the houses to float and so did the cars and boats. Now Japan is in huge dept, this is just tragic, Japan is facing many problems, I hope and pray that the problems in Japan, fades along the future.Although no one can prepare for a tsunami like the one in Japan,We all need to keep our eye on worst-case scenarios, finanical melt downs, wars, and natural disasters.

Massive Tsunami devastates Japan!
One of the biggest Tsunami hit Japan, almost one-hundred and fifty years ago it smashed into the countries northeast coast today. This tsunami swept away boats, cars, and even houses and killed hundreds of people. Now large waves are rolling into Hawaii, where thousands of people have been evacuated from the islands coastline, and toward the U.S west coast. The destruction caused by natural disaster is expected to spread beyond Japan. Red Cross reported that swell moving across the pacific was higher than some islands. In preparation authorities in Hawaii ordered the evacuation of all coastal areas. Many residents in Japan stated that they never experienced such a powerful earthquake.Standard time, and officals warned that the waves could continue and it would become larger. The first wave measured three-feet high, this would probably increase in the future.

Obama says school bullying is"Not something we have to accept "in the U.S.
Bullying is basically a form of abuse,it involves repeated acts over time attempting to create an enforce on one person,or group of people. Bullying consist of three basic types of abuse, emotional, verbal, and physical. Bullying can be defined in many various ways Not to mention, bullying can occur in an context in which human beings interact with each other.
"Bullying can have destructive consequences for our young people" mentioned and said by our president,Obama. He also stated that bullying is not something we should accept. A thirteen year old hung himself in his own back yard, mostly because of the way that his classmates were teasing him,and so did his teachers, this is just terrible. Every day something new occurs, now its a world wide problem of bullying, this is just a horrible news. For example, the teen boy took his own life because of a stupid /crazy idea of students bullying him,his mother most be devastated like any mother would.First lady,Michelle Obama stated "As parents it breaks our heart to think that any child feels afraid in a classroom,or on a playground, and even online,it breaks our heart to think about any parent losing a child to bullying,or just wondering if their kids will be safe when they leave for school in the morning".
Senate Banett D-colo,has legislation he hopes to fold into the reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind that would give schools and teachers away from cracking down on bullying. Descisions are being made,as they should be made,at the local level, and we can give encouragement from here. Senate Banett stated"No child should be scared of going to school". Our president, said "some groups are stepping up and accepting responsibility",including the parent teacher association that begun a campaign to get anti-bullying literature to parents. MTV is also leading a new coalition to stop cyber bullying online. I hope world wide that bullying, one day comes to an end.

Why monogamy matters?
Monogamy is a very essential world-wide issue,Not to mention, A center for disease control revealed that American teens world-wide are having sex with varieties of people. The distinction is crucial to understand the changes in American life since the sexual revolution. During the years 1950-2011 most people were not virgins during their marriage lives. Now the early generation of Americans wait a long time to have sex, they also take fewer sexual partners across their lifetime.Among the young people, studies show that the happiest women were those of a current sexual life partner and only one or two partners in their lifetime. Virgins were happy, but not quite,a young womans likelihood of depression increased as the numbers of partners climbed and the presents stabality of her sex life diminished. The main goal is a sexual culture that makes it much easier for young people to find romantic happiness. By encouraging young people to wait a little longer, choose more carefully and judge their sex lives against a strong moral standard.
Is it true that when teen girls get migrane, they tend to gain weight?
I heard on t.v. last night that most teen girls who have migraine constantly, are likely to gain weight. At first I did not believe, but I guess,I have nothing to worry about because, I barely have migraines. Scientist believe nausea and vomiting are associated with migraines,it also changes your eating and exercise patterns. This is absolutely true, many people have experienced having migraines right after nausea and vomiting.

Obama tells Qaddafi to quit and authorizes refugee airlifts.
Our U.S president is informing Qaddafi to stop and authorize refugee airlifts. In Obama most forceful response to the near civil-war in libya. Obama said the United States will consider imposing a no"flight zone" over the country.Obama mentioned that the United States and the world were outraged by colonel Qaddafi violence against the Libya people. Now Muammar Qaddafi has lost the legitimacy to lead, and he must leave. Not to mention,Obama emphasized a strong preference for the Libyan people to be masters of their own future. Obama makes it clear that he would prefer to stick to relief efforts and keep American troops outside the borders.

Fleeing migrant worker pile up at libyas borders.
On Wednesday, International assistance passed the Egyptian border entering Libya, with many medical supplies and assessment terms. It was a internatinal crisis on Wednesday there where nearly ten thousand migrant workers, mainly Egyptians were fleeing from Libya turmoil. Some people were feared of there lives. The head of the United States refugee agents also mentioned that it was a"nightmare".Not to mention many Egyptians have headed to the Tunisian border, because it was closer to the Libya capital, where most of the people worked.Mostly,British officals said that on Thursday about eight-hundred Egyptians where moved to a different location away from Tunisian.

Believing in miracle!
Miracles are real, but I have a really hard time believing that it is real. Some people, well most people have fate in miracles. Miracles are like praying for someone you love who is suffering,or is sick. Miracles seem really rare, but I hope for all those people out there who are suffering, because of a rare sickness that someday a miracle comes and enters their way of life.Just imagine how different someones life would be with a miracle, and how it could change everyones way of life. If there were many miracles, occurring right now,the whole world would have a different point of view on miracles.

My blog is mainly about teenage life in high school. Most teenagers go through and overcomes many situations that occur on a daily basis. I think many people do not actually know what teens are facing, many of them face many complications in life, such as family conflicts, drinking and smoking habits, giving up on education/school,and or being pregnant and or starting their own family. I think most of my classmates would want to visit my blog because its based on teenagers life and everyday conflicts that everyone can relate to.
An example of my blog writings would be... A community wide issue of babies having babies,is a huge world wide issue/conflict that the world is facing. I think this topic would be really interesting to those teens who are actually teen moms who can relate to these dilemmas/problems.I think many teenagers are experiencing a life situation, having the responsibility of caring for a child, most teens actually do not have experience at all of caring for a baby. Not to mention, after having a baby they will regret ever being a parent, teens will also realize that education was far much better than being a parent, being a parent would be the hardest thing especially for a teenager.
My writing talks mostly of complication and difficulties that us teenagers face. So visit my blog spot and you will learn many challenges that some people and teens face all around the world.

High School Drop Outs
The rate of students that drop out of school exceeds to 76%^.
Major Causes of high school drop outs:
1. Pregnancy
2. Drugs
3. Failing classes
4. Lack of class attentiveness
5. Not considered as a priority
In today's generation, most teens don't consider education essential. They believe in doing otherwise, such as to go clubbing or dropping out because of a drug addition or the sky-rocketing rate of pregnancy. Most teens do not realize the importance of a high school education and high school dipolma, in which you only recieve after recieving and completeing a certain amount of credits. Without a high school dipolma, you become limited to a certain amount of possiblities in the real world. Compared to a person who does have a high school dipolma, there will definitly be a tremendous difference in the pay that you both recieve, even though the job and hours may match. When you apply for a job, people require to examine both a resume and high school dipolma.

What do most people get out of smoking and drinking?
Most people world wide either smoke or drink alcohol. Not to mention, most high school students are smoking and drinking now. Teens think smoking ease the sadness and being less depressed.Mostly, everyone in high school is smoking and drinking because they see their friends doing it and think its a great idea to arrive to school drunk. Once teens drink and smoke theres nothing thats going to make them stop, its like a evevryday hobby to them, they become addicted to achocol and cigarattes. Once these students, teens and young adults plan on stop smoking and drinking ,it will probably be from a long time from now when they are about in there fortys and when they have no other choice but to quit, but at this time it will probably be too late because they will already have lung cancer.
Finding the right college for you!!!
There are so many colleges to choose from, Now that I am in the 11th grade, I think this is diffently the right time for choosing colleges I would like to attend. So far I plan on going to Hunter, which is located in Manhattan and my second option is St.Johns university. I plan on going to those two colleges because they both have nuring programs. When you are choosing a college you have to decide on what it is that you want to study and what you want to grow up and some day become. I heard that choosing colleges are sometimes very difficult because the colleges that you most want to attend might be a long distance travel, for example most dorm colleges are located upstate. Most importantly, I heard that the SATs count tremendously toward you attending the college that you want, most colleges look at your SAT scores to determine what college to send you to. I heard SATs are really hard exams, mosly because it prepares you for college, and I heard the vocabulary words are also difficult. My friends who took the SAT said that, its a really difficult exam and it is best if you do not study for it. Most of my teachers recommend us student of not studying for the SATs, they said its just not a exam that you need to study for, studying would not make much of a difference. I took the practice SAT and it was not a simple exam. I believe in studying for every exam, which includes the SATs and hope on getting a decent grade on it,so I can attend the college that I always plan on attending.
A community wide issue of babies having babies!
Last week, news reported that there has been nintey girls at a Memphis high school that are pregnant or has had a child this school year. Now local officals are launching intiatives to stem the tide of teen pregnancy. Teen pregnancy seems to be a huge world wide problem occurring everywhere. Not to mention, there are some high schools that have programs designed just for teen moms, I am guessing this special program designed just for teen moms must be some kind of day care, so the students just drop there kids of, and then they attend there classes. There are so many students getting pregnant, I can not believe that so many students at Memphis high are getting pegnant all in one school year, this is a serious problem! Now that most of the girls are pregnant at Memphis high I guess now most of the teens with kids will move to another high school that has child day care, which will be better for them because they do not have to pay, and now that they are mothers, they could continue completing there years in high-school. Most students get the idea of being pregnant, because some teens think babies are really cute and most teenagers look at the other kids having babies and get the crazy idea of doing the same thing, many teens just get pregnant on accident.Tennessee ranks in the top ten for the highest teen pregnancy rates in the country. To prevent teen pregnancy in Tennessee they have a "No Baby" awareness program. Hopefully in Tennessee the teenage pregnancy reduces.
This week is so exausting, this is the week that most teachers are collecting last minute papers, homework, projects, and etc. Friday is the last day of the third marking period,so this week is quite hectic, Yesturday I took about three mid-terms for three different classes. And now today I am taking a U.S history mid term, and the worst part of all is that I completely forgot and did not study.
Today my favorite T.V. show is finally showing again, its American Idol! Ever since American Idol started I was hooked on the show, every night I make sure that I watch it. Not to mention, tonight a new judge will be on the show, its Jennifer Lopez, one of my favorite movie stars, shes a great actor.American Idol was very entertaining because some people really did not know how to sing and some sang great.

What do you think the quote"You have your way.I have my way,As for the right way,the correct way and the only way it does not exist. This is one of my favorite quotes, its very simple ,it basically is saying that everyone has there ways and not everyone is perfect and correct. The correct way does not exist, not everyone is correct or right, which means not everyone has experienced being correct,so I guess there is no such thing as being correct all the time. Not to mention, everyone has there own way of being themselves and there is no correct way for representing you, the correct way of you just does not exist.
Ways that teens can earn easy cash!!!
Most teenagers are looking for part time jobs, because they are broke most teens are tired of asking there parents for money to buy what ever hey need, and we all know that when we ask our parents for money the answer is always NO! I personally think that finding a job as a teen is really hard, because who would hire a teenager, and secondly, there are many paper work invoved,it may not seem hard for some people but for others they wouldnt want to go through all of that for just a job.Not to metion, most people who love to hire you, if you like minimum wage/ pay.Your employee would accutually want to hire you cause your a minor and wouldnt care gatting any pay as long as you are getting the money. Not to metion, its really difficult to look for a well paying job as a teenager. Most teens think one way of earning simple cash is by selling drugs of the road, thats very illegal, and I absolutely do not approve of selling drugs. There are many risks of selling drugs, for example,if you are caught selling it you could get arrested,so thats a very risky way of making money.
Most popular teen jobs:
1) Sell suff online or have a garage sale.
2)Babysit,walkdogs,car washs,clean houses,do errands, and mow yards.
3)Create your own website.
4)Tutor and help with homework.
5)Start your own business.
Most people dislike working in public places so they start there own business such as, having a bake sale,\tutoring many students who need help in a certain subject,or activity such as swimming.Creating your very own website could help you in the future, you may never know it might be as popular as facebook, and social network websites. Many student work at fast-food restarants, library, supermarkets, and ect.For many teenagers there are many problems with getting a job.
For example,
1)You may not be old enough.
2)You may lack reliable transportation.
3)You may not have enough time available on a regular schedule for someone to hire you.
4)You might not find a jod near where you live.

Why do most people change when they get to high school?
Many students change when they get to high school beacuse they want to make a good impression about themselves. Most students want to have a new begining, new friends, and better grades. There are also some students who completely change ignoring there old friends, they think they are better than everyone else when they get to high school. I guess most people think high school is the place for change, where they can do whatever they want. The teachers in high school dont care about the students,if they are failing and not attending classes. Not to mention, high school is a place where students change and do whatever they want.

What is this world turning to? Yesturday I was watching the news, where everyone is starting to do drugs,I heard in New Jersey, middle school students at the age of eleven started doing drugs. Now in New Jersey middle school, they are having scanning on a normal basis.I could not believe it that in middle school, students are doing drugs now, one thing I do know is students in high school smoking and drinking alcohol. High school is a whole different situation, where most teens smoke and drink because of depression, and or family situation. How young does someone have to be to do drugs? I just can not imagine middle school students doing drugs, I guess they think its cool and they see there friends doing it,so they get the idea of following in there friends footprints.

So far my reseach on the year of 1961 is going really well, So far I have learned so many things from the past. At the year of 1961, the very first six flags park opened in Texas. Not to mention,my favorite book called to a mockingbird was first released by Harper Lee. Most importantly, John F. Kennedy inaugrated as a U.S president. Yuri Gagarin becomes the first man to fly in space in 1961. Many historically events have happened in 1961

So far my research on the year of 1961,is really intersting,I just realized that at 1961 the new york Yankees started winning games. The movie 101 Dolmations first came out at 1961,that was one of my favorite movies growing up.Back then,in 1961 they had very different fashion compared to the present year.Back then fifty years ago many things were different, such as the politics and economy. Not to mention, at that time people had puffy hairstyles and had very different fashion. There are many differences from now and fifty years ago.
